Obituary — Mrs. Agnes Dryden. Mrs. Agnes Dryden died at High Hill Friday Nov. 16, after an illness of one week. Mrs. Dryden was a daughter of Ellis Graham and was born in St. Charles county 22 years ago. She was married to Gilbert L. Dryden of High Hill at Montgomery City, by Rev. R. D. Sipple, Feb. 8, 1899. Deceased was a member of the Baptist church, having united with that church at Mount Pleasant about two months ago. She was a good woman and was loved and respected by those who knew her, and her sad and untimely death is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. A baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dryden on Nov. 13, but it only lived a few hours and was buried in the same grave beside its mother. Mrs. Dryden leaves, besides her husband, Gilbert L. Dryden, her father, six brothers and two sisters to mourn her death. Funeral services were conducted at Mount Pleasant church Sunday morning, Nov. 18, after which her remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Mount Pleasant grave yard. Rev. Burnham of Fulton, preached the funeral sermon from Psalms, 116-15: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." The JOURNAL extends its sincerest sympathy to the bereaved husband, father, brothers and sisters of the deceased.
