CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Arthur Adams, 85, of Chapmanville, departed this life Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Trinity Healthcare at Henlawson.
Born August 26, 1926, in Shively, he was a son of the late Wallace and Rosa Ann Adams. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Dora Adams; daughter, Sherry Young; six brothers, Arnold, Con, Dewy, Luther, Earnest and Don Adams; two sisters, Cleo Hall and Eunice Kelly, and his father and mother-in-law, Kermit and Bertha Smith.
Arthur enjoyed gardening, walking, and visiting with his friends and neighbors.
Those left to cherish his memory include five sons, Franklin Adams of Hickory, N.C., Arthur Adams Jr. of White Oak of Chapmanville, Jessie (Thelma) Adams of Buck Fork of Harts, Kermit Adams of Boyd, Ky., and Danny Adams of La-Pine, Oregon; one brother, Otis Adams; four grandchildren, Jessica Adams, Brandon Adams, Nicole (Shawn) Lester and Joshua (Elisha) Adams; four great-grandchildren, Bryce and Nick Lester and Aiden and Khloe Adams, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, August 11, at White Oak Church of Christ with Rev. Manasses Hensley Jr. and Rev. Millard Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Family Cemetery at White Oak.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m.-midnight today at the church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
