Gerald Leon Long, 81 of Buckhannon, WV, departed this life Saturday, March 27, 2004 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV after a long illness. He was born August 28, 1922 in Bolair, WV, the son of the late George Samson and Della Catherine (Tyler) Long. Mr. Long retired in 1984 from the B. F. Goodrich Co. in Akron after 37 years of service, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. having served in the South Pacific in a Casu Unit. Along with his wife , he was a member of First Church of Christ in Clinton and they had served as Past Worthy Matron and Patron of Eastern Star #180. He was a member of Elliott Lodge #514, Canal Fulton, where he was a three time Past Master. He was also a member of Portage Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Shrine, Akron, Tadmor Past Masters Unit and the Goodrich Acacia Club. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Lee ( Bird ) Long
