Clifford Wayne Churchill, age 64, of Neoga, IL, formerly Aurora, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday December 14, 2006 at Sarah Bush Hospital in Mattoon, IL, with his wife and children at his side.

Cliff was born on March 21, 1942 in Aurora, IL, to Ruth and Walter Churchill. He was a 1961 graduate of East Aurora High School and married his high school sweetheart, Carol (nee Doud), on June 9, 1962. Cliff worked at All-Steel, Inc. for 29 years and East Aurora School District #131 for five years. He retired in 2002 to Lake Mattoon in Neoga, IL, where he and his wife Carol enjoyed lake living and all its pleasures. After being on dialysis for the last two years due to unforeseen kidney failure, it was determined that Carol, Cliff's wife of almost 45 years, was a match and she was his kidney donor in a successful kidney transplant operation on November 29, 2006. The doctors were thrilled with the success of both operations and the outlook was great when Cliff unexpectedly collapsed at his home and slipped into a coma. Cliff was fortunate enough to be able to give others the gift of tissue and other various donations through the Gift of Hope Foundation.

Cliff was the Civilian Coordinator for the Citizens Radio Patrol with the Aurora Police Department for many years, he was previously a Boy Scout leader at Bardwell School, and coached Aurora Boys Baseball for 15 years. He was a member of the Tiger Athletic Club of Aurora, Eagles Club of Mattoon, and Friends of Lake Mattoon.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Janel Jaros of Aurora, Keri Churchill and Mark Churchill (Theresa) all of Montgomery; his four grandchildren, Kyle Jaros, Andrew, Nicholas and Margaret Churchill; his sister, Adrienne (Gary) Krolik of Elgin and a host of other nieces and nephews, family and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Walter Churchill.

Funeral Services for Cliff will be held at the Daleiden Mortuary at 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506 on Tuesday December 19, 2006 at 12 NOON. Visitation will be held at Daleiden's from 3-8PM on Monday December 18, 2006.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Cliff's name can be made to the Gift of Hope Foundation, Attention: Laura Lawson 660 N. Industrial Dr., Elmhurst, IL 60126. Make checks payable to Gift of Hope. 630-631-5500
