J D Baker, 86, of Lynchburg, TN died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Lynchburg and was retired from Uniroyal in Shelbyville. He was the son of Leonard and Pearlie (Branch) Baker who predeceased him. He is survived by two brothers Clifton (Kip) Baker and Richard Baker both of Lynchburg; brothers Edward (Buster) Baker, James Baker and Bobby Baker predeceased him. J D will be missed dearly by his wife of 66 years, Vergie Mae (Bell) Baker; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Trull; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Lou Baker; and his daughter-in-law, Rita Baker (his son, Billy Ray Baker predeceased him.) J D was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren: Joe Trull, Jr. (who predeceased him), Brian Trull, Jeff Trull, Jamie Baker, Christy (Baker) Cooney, Jennie (Baker) Scoggins, Jason Baker, and Julie (Baker) Phillips, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Visitation with the family will be at 1 hour immediately before the funeral service. Burial will be at Booneville Cemetery in Booneville.
