Kathleen M. Aliff
HERNDON HEIGHTS Kathleen McClellan Green Aliff, 91, of Herndon Heights, WV, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA, following a short illness.
Born August 16, 1919, in Herndon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Green and Molly (Ramsey) Green.
Kathleen was a homemaker, loved gardening, sewing, and quilting. She was a member of the New Hope Old Regular Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herbert Donahue Aliff; a grandson, Gary Michael Lambert; a granddaughter, Pamela Sue Lambert Pope; and three brothers, Clinton Ray Green, Jack Lee Green, and Kester Green.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Donald Ray Aliff of the home; five daughters, Ellen Sue White of Canton, GA, Francis Crane and husband, Henry, of Hobe Sound, FL, Patricia Aliff Sherle of the home, Claudine Harrison and husband, David, of Tazewell, VA, and Christeen Shawver and husband, Bill, of Tazewell, VA; three sisters, Lena June Goodall of Huntington, WV, Della Mae Belcher of Princeton, WV, and Marie Davidson of Fredericksburg, VA; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bryce Phillips, Elder Vernon Blankenship, and Russell McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery at Herndon Heights.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
