WINCHESTER, Va. Doris M. Rinker, 78, formerly of Winchester, died at the Personally Yours Adult Care Home at Three Churches, W.Va. She moved to her eternal home to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2003.

Born Dec. 22, 1924, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Deskin and Sarah Ethel Day Kerns.

Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore D. Leach in April 1962. Her second husband, Jacob Rinker, died in April 1982. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Rosco Kerns.

She was active in church and was a lifelong member of the Church of God. She held various offices in the Paw Paw and Winchester Church of God. She also held an Exhorter License in the Church of God.

She was retired from the Dietetic Department of the Veterans Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She is survived by two brothers, Ronald B. Kerns Sr., and Arthur D. Kerns, both of Paw Paw.

She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw with the Rev. Larry E. Shrout officiating.

Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery at Paw Paw, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw, W.Va.
