Oldest son of George Washington and Margaret (Powell) Aaron. He attended public schools in Winston County AL. He married Anna Eugenia "Annie" Denson, daughter of Thomas J. and Amanda (Burdette) Denson, on May 25, 1901 in Cullman County AL. They resided in Double Springs, Winston County AL. There were five children born to this union: Otho Denson Aaron, Lurline (Aaron) Gilmer, Elaine (Aaron) Godfrey, Newton Byrd Aaron, Jr, and Maxine Aaron. He was the sheriff of Winston County AL from 1911 to 1915 and again from 1923 to 1927, and was also a cattle inspector in between terms as sheriff.
