Cynthia Kroese, 95, of Hull died Monday, June 18, at Pleasant Acres Care Center.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Kroese was born February 9, 1906, in Aalten, Gelderland, Netherlands, the daughter of Jan and Frederika (Colenbrander) Te Slaa. She came to the United States as a young child and her family settled in Hull.

She married Peter Kroese on July 16, 1924, in Hull. They farmed near Hull until 1958, when they moved into Hull. He died December 16, 1990, in Sioux Center.

She became a resident of Pleasant Acres in May 1996. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Helping Hand Society. She enjoyed
crocheting, tatting and flower gardening.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Hilda and Tom De Jong and Freda and Harold Klay, all of Hull; two sons and their wives, Charles P. and Darlene Kroese and John and Joyce Kroese, all of Hull; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Hannah Mouw of Ontario, California.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, also named Freda; a brother, John Te Slaa, a sister, Minnie Kroese; a half-brother, Henry Te Slaa; and a half-sister, Reka Te Slaa.
