Anthony J. Funkhouser, 42, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2012. Tony was born November 27, 1969 in Monroe County and was the son of Randy and Rhea (Sowders) Funkhouser. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his children, Branden Funkhouser of Florida, Zachary Funkhouser, Zane Funkhouser, and Alyssa Funkhouser all of Avon, his parents of Bloomfield, one brother Brian Funkhouser of Bloomington, nephew Gavin Funkhouser, paternal grandmother Ilene Funkhouser of Bloomington, and, maternal grandmother Betty Sowders of Bloomington. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Jerry Funkhouser of Solsberry, Rhonda Harris of Solsberry, Treva Axsom of Bloomington, Allen Sowders of Bloomington, and Michael Lutes of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Alonzo Funkhouser and his aunt Ramona Sowders.

Visitation for Tony will be from 4-8 pm Sunday August 5, 2012 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington. Services will be Monday August 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at The Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Veterans Honor Guard will have Military Rites.
