Mineral Point - Kathryn Amy (Sherman) Barrette, age 74 of Mineral Point entered eternal life on July 30, 2012. She was welcomed home by her dad and mom, David and Bernadine (Burghardt) Sherman.
Kathy was born on November 13, 1937. Kathy attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Prairie du Chien, WI until 1953. Kathy married Leo D. Barrette on November 10, 1954. They made their home in Mineral Point, WI around 1961. Their union produced eleven children: David, Jeff, Gregg, Michael, Robert, Wendy, Paul, Donald, Mara (Tami), Brenda, and Trish.
Kathy took great pride in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed going on trips, attending plays, baking with her granddaughters, taking pictures, antiquing, watching and feeding her birds and squirrels, crossword puzzles, visiting with family and friends, and… collecting spoons!! All will greatly miss her giving spirit, sense of humor, laugh, and shoulder to cry on. While Kathy may have been small in stature, she had a huge heart, was generous and kind and known by all for her positive, hardworking attitude and never-ending energy.
Kathy was employed as the housekeeper for Mineral Point Clinic for over 20 years as well as various other clients. She was a longtime member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and choir in Mineral Point.
