Civil War Union Soldier. He enlisted as a recruit Private in Company K, 1st New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on January 29, 1864. He was captured by Confederate forces and was imprisoned at Camp Sumpter in Andersonville, Georgia, where he died of diarrhea on July 15, 1864.
