Jorgensen and Maren Sophie Jensen. When he was just a few weeks old his family moved to a farm in Antelope County, Nebraska, west of Plainview. In 1920, the Jorgensens moved to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, where Peter finished school, graduating with the high school class of 1924.
In 1935 he was married to Dorothy Wiedkeher. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska, where their only child was born in 1937. Peter died in Omaha on July 29, 1940, after being sick for about 18 months. Funeral services were held on July 31 at the Bethany Lutheran Church west of Plainview, with interment in the nearby Danish cemetery.
Peter was survived by his parents; his wife and young son; four brothers, Christen, Knud, Nels and George; and three sisters, Meta (Devereux), Elinor (Jenson) and Esther (Piepho). He was preceded in death by his sister Karen (1918).
