LW. Gray and wife were called to Lyndon, Sunday, to attend the funeral of Mr. Gray's father, Truman Hawkins.

Trueman C. Hawkins died Thursday April 14 at the home place which is now owned and carried on by his son Azro. He was born in St. Johnsbury, March 30, 1820 within two miles of the place where he died. His father was General Stephen Hawkins and his mother was Abby Shorey. he was one of ten children of whom but one survives, Mrs. L. D. Stiles of St. Johnsbury Center. He married Mrs. Maria Gray and to them were born three children, Stephen of Sewickly, Pa., Mrs. Frank Burdick of Barton, and Azro who lived on the home place and took care of his father during the last years of his life. His wife died March 25, 1895. The funeral was held Sunday at the house, Rev. Mr. Walch of St. Johnsbury officiating. Music was furnished by singing from North Danville. Interment in Goss Hollow Cemetery.
