MARSHALL -- Elzie Edward Hensley, 67 of Marshall Rt. 6, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and was a farmer.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ethel Blankenship Hensley; two daughters, Mrs Fred Cody of Mars Hill and Mrs. CLive Whitt of Marshall; two brothers, Willie of Mars HIll and Furman Hensley of Ashville; three sisters, Mrs. Ottis Hall and Mrs. Tom Shook both of Mars Hill and Mrs. Lonnie Crawford of Weaverville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Laurel Bend Baptist Church.
The Revs. Loyd Ponder and Earl Cole will offiiate. Burial will be in the Upper Laurel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Litton Shook, Maynard and Dedrick Cody, Chalmers Whitt, Frank Arrington and Ina Metcalf.
The body has been taken to the residence by Holcombe Funeral Home, Mars Hill where it will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
