Kenneth Ray Armstrong, 65, of Claremont, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Lexington Memorial Hospital in Lexington.
Mr. Armstrong was born July 9, 1944, in Edgecombe County, a son of the late Marvin Armstrong and Reather Smith Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sylvia Atkins Armstrong; daughter, Kendale Armstrong and fiance, Tony Asbury; granddaughter, Kristina Asbury; sister, Carolyn Owens and husband, Lee, of Tarboro; brothers, Marvin Armstrong and wife, Maryann, and Troy Herbert Armstrong and wife, Laura, all of Tarboro; mother-in-law, Marjorie Forquer of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover, with the Rev. Larry Cooley officiating.
