McQueen, Maria Rodica Age 60, of Plano, IL passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 11, 1952 in Zalau, Romania the daughter of Gheorghe and Florica (Cuceu) Haiduc. Maria was united in marriage to Mr. Alexandru Florescu and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1980. She was then united in marriage on July 20, 1991 to Mr. Gerald A. McQueen and spent the next 13 happy years together until his passing in 2004. Mrs. McQueen was employed, for many years, as an Esthetician Instructor at the Naperville Skin Institute. She was an excellent cook who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family and friends. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Maria is survived by her son, Adrian (Andrea) Florescu of Lake Holiday, IL; her step-daughters, Tamara (Bill) McQueen-Salentine of Aurora, IL and Lora DeWar of Sugar Grove, IL; her grandchildren, Hannah DeWar and Liam Salentine; her brother, Alexandru (Eleonora) Marchis of Somonauk, IL; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard (JoAnn) McQueen of Covington, KY; also many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as her dog, Max and her two cats, Slimmy and Miss Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, Alexandru Florescu and Gerald McQueen. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street in Plano, IL with Pastor Greg Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
