The information I have on this lady is mainly conjecture/theory. I believe she was probably a daughter of Henry Laurens Elliott (1816-1897) and his first wife Mary Milliken McMaster (1824-1853). She was married to Joseph Henry Cummings (1852-1937) sometime prior to 1873, and they had at least four children:

Nancy Elliott "Nan" Cummings (1873-1946, Mrs. Ewart G. Brown), Rachel Cummings (c.1877-?), Mary E. Cummings (c.1879-?, Mrs. William Gordon Belser) and Joseph Pressley Cummings (1880-1920).
