Death Comes to
Mrs. Ballain, 100,
Services Sunday
Funeral services were held at the Hackett funeral home in Shenandoah Feb. 18, for Mrs. C. L. Ballain with the Rev. Walter W. Miller, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Shenandoah, in charge.
Anna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Dickersbach, was born March 19, 1887. Oct. 14, 1908 she was united in marriage with C. L. Ballain. To this union two sons, Cecil and Myron, were born.
Mrs. Ballain had lived in Champion Hill and Imogene vicinities and was a member of the Champion Hill Presbyterian church. They lived in Shenandoah before going to Mal-vern.
She had been in poor health for a number of years and passed away Feb. 15 following a stroke at the Nishna Cottage Rest Home in Malvern where she and Mr. Ballain were being cared for.
Survivors include her husband, the two sons, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren besides a host of friends.
Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. C. L. Ballain, Sunday. They were Charles, Jack, Toney, Marlyn, Martin and Myron Lee Ballain.
Mrs. Geraldine Foster and Mrs. Albert Winston cared for the floral offerings.
Mrs. Gilbert McCain was in charge of the Memorial Book.
Mrs. Gary Moffin was soloist and Mrs. Margaret Woods, organist.
