A Rockingham County native, Paul was born March 25, 1925, the son of Walter C. and Minnie Lee Stowe Biggs. He was of the Baptist faith. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Biggs earned the following medals for service to his country, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Paul retired from Kobe Copper (Wieland) with over 15 years of service. In addition, he was a tobacco farmer for over 37 years and drove an oil truck for Winter Oil Company.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Polly Biggs of the home; nine children, Larry Biggs (Patsy) of Madison, Donnie Biggs (Robin) of Madison, Joe Biggs (Linda) Madison, Scotty Biggs (Judy) of Mayodan, Dwayne Biggs of Mayodan, Jeff Biggs (Elaine) of Madison, John Biggs (Deeanna) of Mayodan, Tracy Biggs (Wendy) of Mayodan and Paula Purgason (Carl) of Madison; 20 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
