A J Downey Morris, age 81, of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester following an extended illness. Mr. Morris was born in Huntland, Tenn. to James and Nellie Stephens Morris. Mr. Morris was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from B&M Paving Contractors where he was employed for many years as a roller operator. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his father, James Morris and one brother. He is survived by his mother, Nellie Morris of Scottsboro, Ala., son, Billy Ray (Sharon) Morris of Manchester, Tenn., daughters; Patricia (David) Tedder of Crossville, Tenn., Julie (Todd) Gilliam of Decherd, Tenn., eight brothers, seven sisters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Morris are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday evening with Bro. Rudy Wilkerson, officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until service time at 2:00. Interment will follow services at Keith Springs Cemetery with military honors bestowed.
