Leland (Lee) David Anderson, 71, of Weidman, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Lee was born on July 24, 1940 to Thomas and Doris (Taylor) Anderson in Gratiot County, Michigan. He grew up in the Mt. Pleasant and Milford area. Lee served his country proudly in the United States Army. On July 6, 1968 Lee married the love of his life, Linda Lee Carrick in Edmore. He enjoyed fishing, drinking coffee with his friends, camping, and coin collecting. His passion in life was too sing with the Praise Team at Cornerstone Worship Center and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He loved giving everyone a hard time.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda; children, Chris (Nancy) Anderson of Blanchard and Michelle Hanes of Weidman; grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Jasmine Hanes, Kameron Anderson, Mikayla Randall, and Caleb Randall; sister, June Knopp; brothers, Loren Anderson and John Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his brother Donald.
A Memorial Service for Lee has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Cornerstone Worship Center in Vestaburg with Pastor Don Wolf, officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation scheduled for two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to12 Noon at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made in Leland's memory to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church or the funeral home.
