Obituary: May 24, 1902 - Mariposa Gazette Tuesday evening, May 13,
Luther TURNER died at his home near Le Grand after a lingering illness of several months.  He was a native of Johnson County, Missouri. He came to California in 1885 and since that time has made it his home. At the time of his death he was 43 years of age. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn him.

Death of Luther Turner
Luther Turner, well known citizen of Plainsburg country, died at his home near Le Grand on Tuesday night last after a lingering illness of many months from consumption. Mr Turner has resided near Plainsburg since he was a small boy and had a large circle of relatives. He leaves a wife of five children to mourn his loss. His death was an untimely one, and there are not any who will regret his passing away more than the members of his family who depended on him for support. Peace be to his ashes.
