Ralph Alton Nance died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in a local hospital.
He was 84. The Chattanooga native was retired from TVA after 38 years of service, a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church and IBEW Local 721. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Gayle Nance, and a son, Robert Alton Nance.
Survivors include his wife, Esda Smith Nance; a son, Donald Nance, East Brainerd; daughter, Carol Nance Krider, Gainesville, Ga.; sister, Rosa Lea Kyker, Philadelphia; and seven grandchildren. A graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold Buck officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
