Ned attended the University of Alabama at age 14, where he recieved is B.A. degree. He finished his law degree at the University of Virginia in 1891. He was elected to the Alabama State Legislature from 1894-1899. He was also the President of the University of Alabama Alunmi.
Ned was President of the Mobile Bar Association and vice-president of the Athelestan Club. He was also a Major in the 2nd Alabama Inf. Company C (Mobile Rifle Company). Ned was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. His obituary appeared in numerous newspapers incluing the New York Times.
He was the son of George W. Robinson and Martha McMillan Robinson of Stockton, Alabama. His wife was Olive Barker Robinson.
