Archie was the eldest of 5 siblings, all of whom lived into their 90's. They were John Paul (1894-1987), Winfield Scott (1896-1992), Helen Mayer (1901-2000) and Dorothy Fleischer (1905-1996).
He received his early education at Doylesport School near Millford and later attended school in Liberal.
He married Dessie Mary Braden Aug 5, 1917. Their first "home" was in a coal camp of a mining company where Archie was the book keeper. Later they lived in Kansas City before settling in Liberal, Missouri. They had 2 children, Lois Ellen DeForest (1921-1974) and Donn B Wimmer (1927).
On May 3, 1923, he and Dessie opened their own grocery business and operated the store until May 3 1958.
