Herman David "Rip" Grubb, a seasonal resident from Galilee, Pennsylvania, who wintered in Orlando, died Sunday, January 2, 2005,at the age of 65, after a long battle with cancer.

The son of the late Woodrow and Lucille Carpenter Grubb, he was born on February 25, 1939 in Casey, Clark County, Illinois. His parents later divorced.

He married Nancy Lee Holtz in 1958 and they later divorced. To this union a son was born (per family's request name kept private).

He married Joan Gale Page on Apr 21, 1971 in Orange County Florida and they divorced Nov 15, 1974 in Orange County, Florida.

He worked as a concrete finisher, building many of the Orlando area attractions. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and playing bass guitar in his band. He was a membet of the Cochecton Fire Company and the past president of the Orlando Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leslie.

He is survived by long time companion, Fran Lenwell of Galilee; two daughters, Sherrece Stricklin and Shari Ward, both of Indiana; two step-daughters; Jennifer Motichka of Tyler Hill, Pennsylvania and Julia Plain of honesdale, Pennsylvania and ten grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, January 5 at the Community Funeral Home in Orlando.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cochecton Fire Company or the donor's choice.
