Retired orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Samuel Pogue Todd, Jr. was the son of retailer, Samuel Pogue Todd, Sr. and his devoted wife Ruth Margaret Ulland Todd. He died at 84 years of age.
He became suddenly ill while at his beloved Michigan cottage, where he had been hearty and doing heavy chores a few months earlier. The melanoma skin cancer which he thought he had beaten some years prior, was found to have resurged, and spread or metasticized throughout various of his internal systems...apparently this was only discovered due to a doctor's visit following a fall. By the time he returned to his Cincinnati residence, he only enjoyed perhaps a few days before drifting further into a deep sleep, from which he dosed off to heaven a few days later... Sadly, many of us did not get to say goodbye to this wonderful man...
