Mrs. Cates died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at Marion General Hospital. She had been ill for two years.
She was born in Swayzee and had lived there her entire life. She was a graduate of Swayzee High School and was a member of the Swayzee Christian Church, the Victory Extension Homemakers Club and the Town and Country Civic Club.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence; one son, Kenneth Cates, Swayzee and one brother, Harley Lewark, Swayzee.
Friends may call after 1p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee.
