CROWE, Alvin Roy "Alroy," 95, of Millers Tavern, Virginia, went to be with the Lord June 15, 2012. Alroy was preceded in death by his first wife of 61 years, Pauline Carter Crowe; daughter, Ruth Crowe Skelton; stepson, Leslie Courtney; and stepdaughter, Helen Chinault. He is survived by his wife, Katie Crowe; daughters, Catherine Williams of Warsaw, Va., Barbara Scott (Bladen) of Warsaw, Va.; stepchildren, from his marriage to Pauline, Evelyn Cheek of Richmond, Va., Mary Hazelwood of Toano, Va.; and five stepchildren from his marriage to Katie; five grandchildren, Anne Louis French, David Scott, Ronald Keith Williams, Brian Johnson and Michelle Yeatman; and six great-grandchildren, Jarrod and Jonathan Scott, Tucker and Taylor Yeatman, Kesley and Zach Johnson. Alroy was the oldest member of Smyrna Christian Church where he was a deacon and elder for the church he truly loved. The family will receive friends at B. W. White Funeral Home, Aylett, Va. from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 18. A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at Smyrna Christian Church, Bruington, Va.
