"The Gadget Man"

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Von Stanley Adams, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2004 at his home, with his wife and family by his side.

Von was born May 2, 1924 to Ray Adams and Alverta Bradfield in Scipio, Utah. He married Leah June Doty on October 31, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

As a young man Von would hitch-hike to places to find work. He found work herding sheep, making cabinets and working an a mink farm. He retired from Kennecott after 38 years as an Assayer. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Von was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings. He enjoyed reading, sports, traveling with his wife and children and doing temple work. He spent 11 winters in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Von's family called him the "gadget man", due to his capability to create and make gadgets for almost everything.

Von is survived by his wife, Leah; three children, Sherri Ann (Danny) Loertscher, Stanley Ray (Irene) Adams, and Connie Lee (Lynn) Bertoch; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters Rose Aleen Dastrup and Darlene J. (Keith) Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson, Caleb Thomas Ford.

Graveside services for Von will be held on Sat., July 31, 2004 at 12:00 noon in the Scipio Cemetery, Scipio, Utah. Funeral Directors - Warenski Funeral Home, American Fork, Utah.
