MONTICELLO - Edward Marion Haley, 80, died at 3:20 AM Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Miller, SD. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was married to Mary Kay Cook, in Indianapolis, on Dec. 1, 1945; she survives.

Mr. Haley was a long-time resident of Battle Ground. He worked at Rostone Corp. for 15 years, and formerly owned and operated Haley's Bait and Tackle in Hayward, WI, where he was a member of the Hall of Fame. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and bowling. He was a life member of VFW Post 1154.

Also surviving are a son, Pete Haley of Battle Ground; three daughters, Nelita Weaver, Dutch DeVault, both of Lafayette, and Cherry Andrews of Brookston; a brother, Don Haley of Lafayette; six sisters, Agnes Thomas of West Virginia, Dorothy Porter of Lafayette, Babe Dalebout of Orem, UT, Shirley Sherman of Georgetown, IL, Jane Bell of Logansport, and Helen O'Nill of San Francisco, CA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service Sept. 10 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Jan Dimick officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
