Mr. Vaught owned Vaught's Bakery for several years, and was a cake decorator in the Otterbein area for many years. He also worked at Purdue Aeronautics Corp. for 18 years, retiring in 1967. Mr. Vaught served in the Army from August 1944 to April 1, 1946. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and Martin Kennedy American Legion Post 125, Otterbein.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Julia Craven of Morristown, NJ; Paula Shatchell of Lafayette and Sally Hands of West Lafayette; one son, Mark Vaught of West Lafayette; a brother, Homer Vaught of Bullhead City, AZ; and one sister, Dorothy Riley of Lafayette. Service Dec. 11 in Steely Chapel, Otterbein, the Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
