Mr. Palombi was born Christmas day, December 25, 1928 in New Brunswick, NJ and is the first of five children of Giovanni and Clementina (Quintina) Budelli Palombi.
Louis Palombi, the father of five children, is survived by three sons, Patrick, Stephen, and Michael; one daughter, Colleen Bednarchik; and is predeceased by one son, Louis John. He is survived by thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Louis is survived by two sisters, Gloria Demarest, Vivian Russert, and two brothers, John and Victor Palombi. Louis is predeceased by Rita Pizont, beloved long-time companion and friend.
Mr. Palombi is a graduate of New Brunswick High School and a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict, 35th regiment, 25 Infantry Division (1951-1952) in which he served after high school. Last year he received the Distinguished Service Award for his service in Korea. Mr. Palombi worked many years for Container Corporation and served many terms as a union president with the AFL-CIO, United Papermakers & Paperworkers Union. Louis worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter, then later, for Cumberland Farms for a number of years. Louis Palombi was a regular attendant at Our Lady of Sorrows, as well as the Hamilton Township Senior Center on Cypress Lane. Lou spoke often and highly of his friends from the senior center as well as McCorristan Square. He spoke of the richness, joy and fun that each one brought to his life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony RC Church, 626 South Olden Ave., Trenton, NJ. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
