Eula was the oldest of three children born to John William and Cora Belle (Stover) Hinkson. She was educated in the schools of Lincoln, Kansas but ill health made her drop out of high school during the first semester of her senior year, and she never graduated.

On October 17, 1917 she married Harlan Lemont Hunter, at the parsonage of the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. They had two children, Keith and LaDonna, both also not deceased.

Following her husband's death in 1950, she continued to live in their Salina home at 861 Highland. After her mother died in 1955, her father moved in with her and she cared for him until his death in 1959.

She was of the Methodist faith, but sometime after Harlan's death, she converted to the Mormon faith.

A year or so before she died, she moved to Abilene, Texas to be with her daughter LaDonna. In September 1987 she came back to Lincoln to visit family and friends and passed away there after suffering a heart attack. She was buried next to Harlan in Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina.
