Luther J. 'Hoagy' Alban
Luther J. "Hoagy" Alban, 58, of Tunnelton, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.

He was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Charles M. and Grace L. Maine Alban.

He was a member of the Mt. View United Methodist Church in Tunnelton, a member of the South Preston Ministerial Association and a former member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Baltimore. He was a brick mason by trade.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue Hayes Alban; two daughters and spouse, Loretta and Joe Bachman, of Baltimore and Sue Alban, of Floyd, Va.; two brothers and spouses, John and Susie Alban, of Baltimore, and Tom and Karen Alban, of Ocean City, Md.; three sisters and spouses, Helen and Henry Harbin and Joan and Larry Blackburn, all of Baltimore, and Margaret Alban in Florida; and seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Joseph, Michelle, Charles, Susan, Kirk and Grace.

He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Sonny Amos, Dick, Jim, Robert, Junior and David Alban; and two sisters, Dot Hibbs, and Mary Milan.

On Saturday, March 27, 2004, he will be moved to the Mt. View United Methodist Church to lie in state from noon-1 p.m., the funeral hour with the Revs. Tom Strahin and Norman Criss officiating. Interment in the Mt. View Cemetery.
