Joe W. Buthman

1953 - 2004


Joe W. Buthman III, 50, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Satur- day, April 17, 2004, at a local hospital.


Joe was born June 28, 1953, in St. Joseph, Mo., where he had lived most of his life. He was a 1971 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School, and was of the Catholic faith.


He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and started the first citywide Tailgate Party. He was owner of Sports Nutz, which was scheduled to open this month. open He was a member er of the Harley Davidson Club, St. Joseph chap- ter.


Joe worked for Texas Instru- ments in Dallas, Texas, as a computer chips technician for 18 years. He had also worked previously for H.D. Lee, prior to moving to Texas.


He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph W. Buthman Jr.


He is survived by his mother, Dorothea M. Buthman, of the home; a brother, Jack Buthman, St. Joseph, Mo; two sisters, Judy Lyons and her husband, Richard J. of Plano, Texas and Jo Ann Friess, St.Joseph, Mo.; three nieces and five nephews and his beloved dog, Molly.


Service and Committal: 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Heaton Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

Entombment at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will begin after 9a.m. Tuesday at the Heaton Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel where the family will receive friends 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
