ESCONDIDO: Waneta Larson was born in Staunton, Indiana, daughter of Andrew and Ruth Whallon. She went to school in a one room school until high school. After high school, she moved to Chicago and worked as a home health caregiver. At one of the homes she worked, she met Bror Larson, a native of Sweden, and married him. They had two children, Sonia (Dennis) Ford and Lon (Barbara) Larson. When the children were in high school, Waneta went to work as a typist. She didn't like that work, so she went to nursing school, her dream all of her life, and graduated when she was 50. She worked as a visiting nurse in Chicago. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Escondido. Waneta returned to work at Crestview Manor where she worked until she was 75. She also volunteered at the Senior Center, Hospice, and her church, and never quit sharing her love of Jesus. A Life Celebration will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 2, at Community Lutheran Church, 3575 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Community Lutheran Church. Published in North County Times, Escondido, California, on May 30, 2012
