Mrs. Lettie Jane Thrift Miller, 79, of Wadesboro, died Saturday, February 26, 1983, in the Anson County Hospital in Wadesboro,N.C. after a long fight with cancer.
A Native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Plato Durham and Ella Ramsey Thrift, and was born March 8, 1903.
She was the widow of the late Wallace Miller who died in 1948 and was a retired textile worker. She was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church in Wadesboro.
Survivors include four daughters, Tessie and Louise of Cowpens, SC, Faye of Lilesville and Jean of Wadesboro; three sons, Bobby and William of Wadesboro and S.B. of Cowpens, SC; Two Brothers, Arthur of Cowpens, S.C. and Wofford of Mayo, S.C.; one sister, Daisy of Chesnee, S.C.; 21 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Great-Grandchild.
She was predeceased by two children, a daughter, Bessie May Miller and a son, Lee Baxter Miller, who both died as infants.
Her funeral was held at 2 p.m. on February 28, 1983 at Southside Baptist Church in Wadesboro, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Phillips, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Jim Harris. Burial followed in Eastview Cemetery in Wadesboro.
