AUGUSTA, Ga. - Patricia Patsy S. Murphy, wife of the late Charles Andrew Murphy, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church today Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Scott Winchel as celebrant. Interment will be at Westover Memorial Park following the mass. Pat was born in Augusta and graduated from Mt. St. Joseph High School and the Barrett School of Nursing. Then, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Pat was an active member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and the University Hospital Nursing Alumni. Pat loved life and shared her passion and fire with everyone she met. In addition to her late husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Jimmy Spears. Surviving family members include her children, Jim Murphy and his wife Elise, son Duncan, daughter Victoria, Cheryl Murphy, son Charlie, daughters Amanda, Kimberly and Tiffany and Cynthia Wilson and her husband Brian and daughter Ashlyn and great-grandchild, Bailey, brother, Chester Wilson Chip Spears, Jr., sisters, Phyllis Holland Badke, Sandra Boysworth and special sister in law, Marlene Spears. Pallbearers will be Jamie Spears, Charlie Spears, Mike Leonard, Duncan Murphy, Steve Platke and Andrew Sprouse. Following the interment services today, the family will receive friends at the residence of Marlene Spears.
