Ray C. Brown Portage/Hammond Ray C. Brown, age 78 of Portage, formerly of Hammond, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Porter Memorial Hospital. He is survived by two loving sons: Ricky Abner of Kansas and Christopher Brown of Portage; two loving daughters: Debra (Danny) McCrary of Griffith and Carol (Reynaldo) Macias of Carpentersville, IL; 12 grandchildren; three great granddaughters; one sister, Dorothy Mitchum of Ohio. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta; son, Gregory and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 5840 Hohman Ave., Hammond with Rev. Robert Raschka officiating. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Ray was retired from the Times as a security guard after 20 years of service and was retired as a truck driver from Lever Brothers in Whiting after 20 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
