Molly was the Central Office Treasurer for Fairdale High School. She was a member of Valley View Church, Fairdale Alumni Association, and the Fairdale Booster Club. Molly was an avid horse lover and rider. She was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a pastor's wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Pauline Smiddy Tate.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor David Carty; daughters, Shanda Coomer (Chris), Kimberly Farmer (Stephen) and Jacquelyn Talley (James); brothers, Fred L. and Forrest Tate; sisters, Earline Hogue and April Ramburg; grandchildren, Audrey Farmer, Cameron and Carson Coomer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Roberta Carty.
A celebration of her life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Valley View Church, 8911 Third Street Road. Interment will be in Mount Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home Monday from 3-8 p.m.; Tuesday from 1-8 p.m.; and after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church. Published in The Courier-Journal on May 28, 2012.
