Mass of the Christian Burial for
Lillian K. Thayer, 83, of Delphi,
was held at 7 p.m. Sunday in St.
Joseph Catholic Churchy Delphi,
with Rev. Ambrose Ziegler officiating.
Private commital services
were at 10 a.m. Monday at
Tippecanoe Memory Gardens,
Lafayette.
She died at 9:22 p.m. Thursday,
June 11, 1981, in the emergency
room of St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Lafayette, as a result of injuries sustained
earlier that evening in an
automobile accident four miles
south of Delphi in Tippecanoe
County on SR 25.
Born Jan. 25, 1898, in Tippecanoe
County, she was the
daughter of Thomas and Emma
Stobel Mehegan. She was married in
1920 in Lafayette to Harold F.
Thayer, who died in 1977.
Chairperson of the Carroll County
Red Cross for many years, she
was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Psi Iota Xi sorority
and Harry Bohannon Post 75
Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara
Fraser of West Lafayette; one
brother, Albert Mehegan of
Winnetka, Ill.; one sister, Mary
Gildersleeve of Tucson, Ariz.; and
three grandchildren.
Jackson-Strawn Funeral Home,
Delphi, was in charge of arrangements.
