Harold F. Thayer, 82, of
Delphi, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday,
May 27, 1977, at St. Elizabeth
Hospital, Lafayette, after an
extended illness.
Born July 19, 1894, in Carroll
County, he was the son of Briney
and Eundora Swatts Thayer. He
was married in 1921, to Lillian
Mehegan, who survives.
He was the former owner of
Thayer’s Dairy and Thayer’s
Roofing Company. Thayer was a
member of St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church, Delphi, and was a
veteran of World War I, having
served as a supply sergeant.
Surviving with the wife are a
daughter, Mrs. William Frasier
of west Lafayette, and three
grandchildren.
One brother and one sister
preceded him in death.
Services were Monday at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church, with
the Father Ambrose Ziegler
officiating. Burial was in Tippecanoe
Memory Gardens, West
Lafayette. Jackson Funeral
Home, Delphi, was in charge of
arrangements.
