HORACE MONROE KERSEY Horace Monroe Kersey, age 87, passed away September 14, 2007. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille who died on August 12, 2002. Mr. Kersey was a member of The First Baptist Church of Stockbridge Ga., The Georgia Peace Officers Association, graduate of The Atlanta Law School, Capt. with The Atlanta Police Department for 25 years, former Police Chief Of Stockbridge Ga., and City Councilman Of Stockbridge Ga. He is survived by two daughters Nancy (Charles) Garvin, Douglasville, Ga., Kathy (Frank) Butler, Douglasville, Ga. Two sons Mike (JoAnn) Kersey, Dacula, Ga., Allen (Brenda) Kersey, Stockbridge. Six grandchildren, Jennifer Peters, Doug Garvin, Clifton Kersey, Allison Morris, Christopher Kersey and Rebecca Kersey. Three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 17 at the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward. Rev. Steve M. Murell officiating. Interment in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
