Mable Estella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Bittenbender, died at her home in the city Thursday, April 11, at 12:10 p.m.1901,age 17 years, 9 months and 11 days.Her illness was very brief, the trouble peritonitis.
She went home from town Saturday evening feeling ill. She retired without supper and never after that took nourishment. The symptoms were better on Tuesday but she soon grew much worse and hope was lost. She was born July 1, 1883.
Attending the public school until a year ago. Has lately been engaged in canvassing for books, the last one 'The Life of Queen Victoria'. She left her work unfinished (as most people do) for the books have not yet been delivered. She was brought up in the Lutheran church, always attending to thoughts and acts that a Christian life. During the recent revival meetings at the M.E. church she took an active interest and it was her intention to unite with that church.
The funeral occurred ay the home two blocks south of the west school house at 2 o'clock on Saturday.
Interments was made in Graceland cemetery.
