In 1861 he bought a farm in Jefferson Township and on that farm he passed the rest of his life and died on Feb. 7, 1874. They had six children, five of whom grew to maturity. All were deceased in 1912 but William and a daughter, Mrs. Elvira Moore, who resided in Kansas City, Kansas.
