Dixie Lee Allen was born August 12, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Eulah Leckenby and Cecil Layman.

Dixie went to our heavenly father on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after a long battle with cancer, her family at her side in Ellicott , Colorado.
She is survived by her sisters, Lou and Marion; brothers, Alvy and David; Fiance, David Henley; daughters, Samantha (Joe) Archuleta and Mary (James) Ritenour; grandchildren, Felicia, Katherine, Chiquita, Joe, Pablo, Raymond, Cody, Steven, Ty. She leaves behind many loved ones and friends.

She was a Native of Colorado and had 13 years of education. She was a homemaker and loved cooking. She would take care of anyone that came into her house.
She also loved to go fishing and camping and gardening. She was a loving Fiancee, Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister-in-law and Friend.

Christmas time was her favorite holiday, she would build her villages, decorate the Christmas tree, and loved lights around the house. She would even make the bows for all the presents. Dixie's cooked the whole month of December so that she would be all ready with sweets and some of the most delicious food.

Her favorite color was bright pink, her favorite bird was the humming bird she loved when they were a green and bluish color. She loved male lions because of their big bushy mane.and she spent lots of time listening to her favorite singer Elvis Presley especially Fools Rush In.
During the day she enjoyed watching Walking Dead, Mexico: One Plate at a Time and many Religious Channels. On Sundays she would spend the morning reading scriptures from the bible. When it was a warm sunny day she would sit at the door put her feet in the sun and listen to the birds.

Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Friend you will be very missed and always loved.
