Easley, SC - Martha Jean Abbott, 78, of 207 Rotterdam Road, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Clinton, SC, a daughter of the late Claude C. and Annie Mae Evans Abbott, she was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are: a daughter, Kyle Whitfield of the home; a brother, Tommy Abbott and his wife, Lyda Snyder of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Abbott and Sarah Abbott; one grandson, Nicholas Whitfield; one granddaughter, Amanda Whitfield; one niece, Ann Tinsley Walker and her children, Justin and Tyler; and several first cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland-West Cemetery in Greenville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 10794, Greenville, SC 29603. Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, which is assisting the family.
