E.G. Hughes, 22, Former Paducah Resident, Dies

Edward G. Hughes, 22, a former Paducahan, was killed at midnight Thursday in an automobile accident between Detroit and Flint, Mich.
Hughes, who was employed by General Motors in Flint, had lived in Detroit for four years. He and two companions were killed when their car struck the rear of a transport truck during heavy fog.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Hughes of Paducah Rt. 8; two brothers, Dewey and Rubin Hughes of Paducah; three sisters, Mrs Elvadean Hamilton of Detroit, Doris and Wilma Hughes of Paducah; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith of Hohenwald, Tenn., and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, 5th and Jackson, in Paducah, with Robert Wagner officiating.
Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cox, Carl Vandergriffe, Bobby Heitt, Jimmy Dossett, D.T. Sutton and Robert Sutton.
The body will be at the parents' residence after 10 a.m. today.
